Day One: Social Media Week Recap

Published by Webmaster

Day one of Social Media Week in Chicago has ended for our team here at Aaron Bros. Moving System, Inc. and here is what we learned; social media is ever-changing, highly relevant in today’s consumer world, and competitive for your trust and attention. It strives to tell a story and make a connection with our “brand” to you in the matter of characters and images.

The seminars we attended today encompassed company storytelling, content writing, content writing for specific devices, and social media management. We heard from the CEO of Brandtrust Daryl Travis, social content strategists from Cramer-Krasselt, CEO of Cheezburger Ben Huh, and social media mangers from Grubhub and Divy Bikes.

There are a few things that Aaron Bros. is doing right and a few things we can be doing better. In our endless pursuit to achieve our company goals and meet the expectations of both our moving and self-storage customers, our “food-for-thought” after Day One of Social Media Week is what is our story and are we communicating it efficiently enough to our customer? Sure, we know it. We are family owned and operated and the business of moving and storing Chicago is always in our daily interactions be it during work hours, weekends, family celebrations and/or holidays. But when you are so close to something it is hard to see that big, panoramic view. So we propose to take a metaphorical step back and recount our company’s story. Like with all human interactions it’s the personal story that is lasting, and once you know ours we can take part in yours. After all, what is more personal than literally moving you and your family and storing the belongings that are worthy enough for storage?

Stay tuned for more highlights from our adventures at Social Media Week!
