Bucktown/Wicker Park Neighborhood Feature #2: Weekend Festivals

As we near the end of summertime in Chicago, the festival calendar is filled with activities to attend. Two in particular are being hosted in this week’s Neighborhood Feature, Bucktown/Wicker Park.

If you are looking for something to do this weekend, we recommend the Bucktown Arts Festival and Chicago’s New Orleans Festival.

The Bucktown Arts Festival is a neighborhood celebration of art and music with close to 200 participating artists as it embarks on its 29th year.  Expect to experience art from various types of visual artists, musicians, dancers, poets and performers. The festival is held at Holstein Park and admission is free.  Proceeds from this event benefit arts education programming in the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhoods.

The newbie to the festival roster is the Chicago’s New Orleans Festival.  This event showcases southern food, craft beer and live performances all paying homage to great ole’ New Orleans.  It is held at the intersection of Damen and Division and there is a suggested donation of $5.

Squeeze in as much of summer as you can before fall hits – get out there this weekend, experience Chicago and all it has to offer!
