Edgewater Neighborhood Feature: Fall Art Fair

Fall is officially here Chicago and sadly, we are nearing the end of summertime and the end of street festivals for the season. But before you pull out your long sleeves and boots, why not take in a couple more before it’s all over?!?!

Today, our Neighborhood Feature focuses on the Northside neighborhood of Edgewater. Take a drive just 7 miles north of the Loop to this lakeside community to enjoy the Edgewater Fall Art Fair this weekend. The Edgewater Fall Art Fair is young compared to the other festivals we have featured, celebrating only its 2nd year in 2014. It was started by the community to pay homage to “diversity by featuring not only the community’s resident artists but also artists from all over Chicago, as a symbol of how Edgewater has always been a welcoming ‘port of entry’ to many different groups of people.” Trust us, it does not disappoint! This year’s participation has increased so much that the fair is now 1 block longer than last year.

While there, one can peruse and purchase amazing art from over 100 local art vendors, hear live music, watch and/or participate in a children’s talent show and even enter your pet in a parade and costume contest. Plan to see original works in painting, photography, handmade jewelry, mixed media, glasswork, pottery and more.

The Edgewater Fall Art Fair is kid and pet friendly so bring the whole family! It’s open from 11am – 6pm both Saturday and Sunday and there is a $5 suggested donation for entry. For more information, click here.
