Little Village Neighborhood Feature

Little Village Neighborhood Feature #1: A Community of Traditions

Little Village is a gem of a neighborhood and one that many Chicagoans have not yet visited, making it a perfect candidate for this week’s Neighborhood Feature.

Little Village resides south of Cermak to 38th Street and west of Western to Kilbourn and considered by most to be a slice of authentic living for its many Mexican-American residents. This neighborhood is filled with plenty of culture and cool places to check out.

Little Village is dubbed the “Mexico of the Midwest,” filled with amazing restaurants, food cart vendors, shops and parks deeply rooted in rich Mexican tradition.  One favorite restaurant is La Justicia which hosts live entertainment every Friday night, including mariachi bands and more.  There’s also Taquerias Atotonilco – they’ve been around for over 25 years – friendly, inexpensive and delicious!

If you’re looking for some dude ranch attire i.e. cowboy hats and boots, Little Village is the place to go.  Pay a visit to Herrera Western Wear and Mariano’s Western Wear for a large selection of attire and accessories to choose from.

Are you starting to plan your weekend?  Well hold on!  Come Thursday, we will discuss the Mexican Independence Parade and Festival which will take place this weekend in Little Village. You definitely want to have this on your calendar!
