Wrigleyville Neighborhood Feature

Wrigleyville Neighborhood Feature #1: Wrigley Field

This week, our neighborhood feature belongs to the always active, Chicago Northside neighborhood of Wrigleyville! And for us Chicagoans, Wrigleyville is synonymous with the Chicago Cubs’ stadium, Wrigley Field.

Wrigley Field was built in the early 1900s and later defined the neighborhood residing in the Lakeview area. With the infamous Cubs as the neighborhood’s anchor, Wrigleyville has created a culture all of its own. Although the White Sox and the South Side surrounding U.S. Cellular Stadium have a separate culture, one would argue to say, you haven’t experienced a baseball game in Chicago until you attend a Cubs game.

When driving through Lakeview and Wrigleyville during spring and summer, you know when it’s a game day. The streets are filled with vivacious and excited fans, spilling out from restaurants and cheering from rooftops for the Cubbies.

If you are looking for a place to watch a Cubs’ game in Wrigleyville, there are many sports bars to choose from like Sluggers, the Ivy on Clark, Murphy’s Bleacher and the infamous Cubby Bear. If you’re looking for a more intimate experience of the game without actually attending, Wrigleyville offers an array of rooftops on Waveland and Sheffield Avenues with views of left and right field. The ways to enjoy Cubs games are plentiful! What’s your favorite way to enjoy a good ole’ Chicago Cubs game? If you’re looking for more information, visit the Wrigleyville Community Guide.
