Last Minute Fourth of July Party Ideas

Published on June 29th, 2016 by

Can you believe the Fourth of July is this Monday?!?! Did it sneak up on you too? Well it’s not too late to plan a last minute Fourth of July party that will still impress your friends and guarantee a good time.

We’ve compiled some great décor and food tips to get you started for this year’s Fourth of July party!

Décor

Every party needs some décor details and just because this is a last minute Fourth of July party, doesn’t mean you can’t get some décor together. It’s up to you on whether you want to keep things simple or go all out. These inexpensive and fun tips will make sure your Fourth of July party is festive and ready to greet guests!

Door Wreath

They say first impressions are lasting. Greet your guests with a wonderful DIY flag door wreath. It’s fairly simple to make with the use of a Styrofoam wreath that you can find at Michael’s and lots of mini flag toothpicks. Simply stick the flag toothpicks into the wreath to your desired fullness and there you have it, an American flag door wreath.

Paper Lanterns

Grab some white orb paper lanterns from places like IKEA, Party City or Target. Affix red, white and blue ribbon around the lanterns and hang throughout your backyard.

Party Wagon

Get your guests into the mix. Borrow your child’s Radio Flyer wagon, use a wood crate or some other type of large container. Take a trip to the dollar store or Party City and load up on all red, white and blue festive materials: paper pinwheels, streamers, handheld American flags, hats, glasses, noisemakers, and more. Load up the wagon with all of these party materials and set it out for your guests to use during your Fourth of July party.

Flowers

If you want to have some small floral centerpieces for your tables, use a mason jar wrapped with red, white and blue ribbon. Fill the jar with red, white or blue flowers and there’s your festive and inexpensive floral centerpiece.

Food

To complete your Fourth of July party, make sure there’s some yummy food available. You can either arrange for your party to be a potluck or provide all the food & beverages for your guests.
