Rules and Regulations for Self-Storage

Published by Webmaster

Aaron Bros. Moving System, Inc. offers four self-storage facilities for short-term or long-term unit rentals. Each facility–like all self-storage companies–have specific rules and regulations to keep our occupants and staff satisfied. When signing the contract with one of our locations, the fine print can be overwhelming. We are happy to provide an abridged summary of the key points you need to know while renting from one of our self-storage facilities.

Payment

Rent is due on the 1st of every month. As a courtesy to our customers, we have a grace period of ten days before any late fee is added to your account. Please note that on the 11th of the month a $20 late fee will be accessed to your unit fees. You can pay your account 1 of 3 ways to avoid unnecessary fees:

  1. Enroll in automatic payments that will be deducted monthly from your account
  2. Online payment at your convenience
  3. Mail in/call in/ or visit you self-storage facility with your monthly payment

Access

All tenants must have a zero balance to access their unit, during our business hours. Only those individuals holding contracts or individuals as authorized users have access to the facility. All tenants must be checked in with the facility representative on duty. The on-site facility manager has the right to deny anyone from entering the premise if that person does not have a zero balance, proper identification or clearance, or is deemed a threat to the occupants and/or employees of the facility.

Move-Outs

Tenants moving out of the facility may do so with a zero balance. We ask that move-outs are completed a half an hour before the facility closes. Tenants will then sign a “move-out” waiver and the vacated unit will be checked by maintenance. Please be advised to complete move-outs before the 1st of the following month in order to avoid an additional month’s rent.

Liens

Units are put into lien when there has been non-payment on the account for 14 days. A lien fee will be added to your account as well, currently in the amount of $100. To avoid risking your unit being auctioned, please make sure to stay current with your monthly statements.

Prorated Fees

Depending upon our four facilities, rates may be prorated upon move in as part of any particular “move in special;” however, this is not a guarantee. Prorated fees are not applicable for move-outs at anytime. Please make note that if a tenant were to move in on the 15th of the month, the rent is still due on the 1st of the next month. We do not honor anniversary dates in terms of payment.

Prohibited Items

Items that can not be stored in any of our facilities include the following: firearms, explosives, drugs, and hazardous or perishable items. For a reference on how to properly pack for self-storage, click here.

Please feel free to contact your self-storage facility with any questions or for more information regarding the above post. With Aaron Bros. Moving System, Inc., you can be sure to always speak to a live person and we are solely here to keep your items secure.
