Our Top 10 Kitchen Organization Tips

Published by Webmaster

Now that we are full swing into November, it’s time to start thinking about and planning for the holidays. Along with joyful holiday spirit, there’s a lot of preparation that goes into hosting your loved ones at your home for the holidays. Our top 10 kitchen organization tips will make sure you’re ready to get cooking!

There’s a lot of cooking and baking to happen in the next month or so. Having an unorganized kitchen can make this daunting. Our top 10 kitchen organization tips can help you set up a strong foundation so when it’s time to spend hours cooking, you know where everything is and can get things done with ease.

  1. Cabinet Shelving: Add stackable shelves to create more space in your cabinets.
  2. Cabinet Organization: Purchase kitchen cabinet organizers or use a dividing file rack to organize your cutting boards and baking sheets.
  3. Dry Good Containers: Store your essential dry goods in uniform plastic (or glass) containers. Not only does it keep things orderly, it also can keep them fresh longer. This is great for rice, sugar, flour, cereal, spaghetti, etc.
  4. Sliding Cabinet Inserts: Install sliding shelving or drawers to easily store pots and pans. With these inserts, you can easily find what you’re looking for without having to take everything out, creating another mess.
  5. Drawer Organizers: Organize your junk drawer. Yes, it is your junk drawer, which automatically makes you think it can be, well, junky but organized junk is better. It can still be the junk drawer (containing odds and ends) but adding a drawer organizer can make it actually useful.
  6. Spice Organization: Use a rotating stand or tiered cabinet insert to store all of your spices. When you’re cooking, this can definitely save time.
  7. Toss It: Get rid of old storage containers you no longer use. Make sure you include those containers with missing tops or bottoms. It can be hard to get rid of these because you know you’ll find the other half one day. Unless that day is today: toss it.
  8. Under Sink Cabinet: Go vertical. Maximize the space within your under sink cabinet by installing a wire basket on the side of the cabinet to store small items such as sponges, brushes, etc.
  9. Modular Shelving: If your kitchen lacks cabinet space, add some modular shelving to your kitchen space for additional storage. Store your prettier dishes or glassware here for a nice touch. Or if you need it for more utilitarian storage, place items in nice baskets to maintain a clean and organized aesthetic.
  10. Jazz It Up: For aesthetic purposes, especially if you have glass door cabinets, add a cool shelf liner to the back of your cabinet. It creates a nice visual touch.

What other ways do you organize your kitchen to make it work for you? Do you have additional tips to add to our top 10 kitchen organization tips? If so, let us know! We’d love to hear from you!
